LA Hawkeye Gamewatch #11: Iowa vs. Michigan – Nov. 23, 9:00AM / LA Iowa Club Food Drive Month!

Iowa looks to finish the season strong against the University of Michigan.  Saturday’s game will mark the final home contest for 15 seniors. The Hawkeyes have won the last 3-of-4 in the series with Michigan, including the last two in Iowa City.

This game is an important to further cement Iowa’s bowl prospects against a Michigan team that has struggled to find offense during the second half of the season.  The Hawkeye defense will need to be at their best as Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner is explosive and capable of extending plays with his feet.  There’s no better time for the Iowa offense to take a giant step forward.  Hawk fans will be amped already, if Iowa’s able to move the ball down field and score; Kinnick will become electric.

The pressure is building on the Hawkeyes for a return to glory, taking down the Wolverines would surely be a boost to the program; and a great signature win Coach Ferentz needs to quiet those losing patience in Iowa City.

Please join us at either one of the two official game watch Barney’s locations and enjoy 35% of food and 50% of beverages to any Iowa fan who wears something with Iowa on it (offer valid during the game only).

LA Hawkeye Gamewatch #10: Iowa vs. Purdue – Nov. 9, 9:00AM / LA Iowa Club Food Drive Month!

Iowa looks to rebound from a tough loss last weekend at the hands of Wisconsin with a showdown in West Lafayette, Indiana against the Purdue Boilermakers.  The Hawkeyes come into the game just one win shy of being bowl eligible.

The Hawkeyes look to find more consistency on offense against a Purdue team that is winless in conference play. Purdue offensively has just 7 Redzone touchdowns on the season, ranking them last in the Big Ten. While Iowa boasts one of the best defenses in the conference. However, Iowa should not take Purdue lightly under first year head coach Darrell Hazell, who is searching for his first Big Ten win as a head coach.

Please join us at either one of the two official game watch Barney’s locations and enjoy 35% of food and 50% of beverages to any Iowa fan who wears something with Iowa on it (offer valid during the game only).

Iowa Gamewatch #9: November 2, 2013 Iowa vs Wisconsin at 9:00 A.M. – No Raffle

Just when Northwestern had Iowa on the ropes, the Hawkeyes dug deep to win an overtime thriller 17-10 in Iowa City.

Kinnick Stadium will be rocking again this Saturday, when the 24th ranked Wisconsin Badgers come to town.  The Badgers boast the top rushing attack in the conference with just under 300 yards rushing a game, and are ranked second in total defense.

The Heartland trophy is on the line, and the Hawks are currently 2-0 in trophy games.  More importantly than a third trophy, is Iowa winning its 6th game of the season and becoming bowl eligible.  The Hawks can’t afford turnovers, and the offense has to find ways to move the chains in the second half.  Sloppy play, and the Badgers will make them pay.

Please join us at either one of the two official game watch Barney’s locations and enjoy 35% of food and 50% of beverages to any Iowa fan who wears something with Iowa on it (offer valid during the game only).

If you would like to show your LA Hawkeye pride, then don’t forget to order your LA IOWA Club t-shirt. T-shirts can be pre-ordered on our website (www.lahawkeyes.com) or purchased at the SANTA MONICA gamewatch location for $15.
