The title of the webinar is “Becoming an Effective Mentoring Leader”.

There’s no doubt that the concept of workplace mentoring is a hot-button issue facing management today. With managers under extraordinary pressure to cut costs, streamline operations, and increase productivity, the role of mentors has become more critical than ever–particularly since studies show leaders who mentor get promoted faster and earn significantly more than those who don’t.

IOWA Club Service Project: Los Angeles Regional Food Bank

Click here to register. The password is club16 (case sensitive).

Do some good, and feel good doing it.

On Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 8:30 a.m. until noon, we’ll volunteer at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

Location: 2825 E. 54th Street, Vernon, CA 90058

We’ll sort fresh produce, canned items, and non-food items, and assemble packages for the food bank’s various programs.

By giving a little of our time, we can make a big difference in our community.

Be sure to wear your Black and Gold colors!

Parking is available on-site and nearby, but we recommend carpooling as the space is limited.

The LA IOWA Club will be joining volunteer forces at this event with The Big 10 Club of Southern California and and the Northwestern University Club of LA.

You will be meeting a Food Bank Volunteer Coordinator upon arrival. Safety requirements include: no open-toe/open-heel shoes or high heels. Casual attire recommended (t-shirt, light sweater, and tennis shoes). Bring work gloves if you have them.

Minimum age requirement to volunteer is 14 years old–sorry, no exceptions. All volunteers who are UNDER 18 year old are required to show proof of age with picture ID (school ID, state ID, passport, or birth certificate).

When you register online, you will receive directions to the event. You will also receive a Waiver and Release of Liability form. Sign the form, and bring it with you to the service project. Each volunteer must sign his own form, regardless of age. If you are a minor under the age of 18 years old, you MUST have your parent/guardian sign the form as well.
