So Cal Hawkeye fans get ready to fill Westwood with a lot of Black and Gold! The Iowa Women’s Basketball team learned their NCAA Tournament ride starts in Los Angeles as the #6 seed, taking on the 12th seed Bluejays of Creighton. The action tips off this Saturday at 3pm at the Pauley Pavilion on the UCLA campus.
The Hawkeyes are making their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2015. Head Coach Lisa Bluder has lead Iowa to a 24-7 record and all-American Megan Gustafson has been crushing records and has no plans of stopping anytime soon. Megan is a one of a kind athlete, something you will want to see for yourself live and in person. The Hawks are coming off a heartbreaking loss to rival Minnesota in the Big 10 Tournament, but an NCAA Tournament win can erase all that for Senior Chase Coley. The Hawks are relatively young, and have been missing a key component for much of the season, so there’s a lot to look forward to from Bluder’s Bunch.
Tickets are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com and start at $12, so you can bring the whole family out and support your Iowa Hawkeyes! If the Hawks win on Saturday, their next game would be this Monday. If you’re on Twitter, show some love to the Iowa Women’s Basketball page @IowaWBB and let them know you’re excited to host the Hawkeyes in the City of Angels!
