At 7-4, the Hawkeyes have already accomplished more this season than most expected. Iowa has one last chance to improve heading to Lincoln, Nebraska to take on the Huskers.
The series known as The Heroes Game, hasn’t felt like much of a rivalry, with Nebraska claiming both victories; but Iowa is playing with a high level of confidence.
The Hawks are eyeing a New Year’s Day Bowl, so expect this team to play with a renewed energy. Iowa has to let it’s seniors lead like they have all year, and play fundamental football for 60 full minutes.
Please join us at either one of the two official game watch Barney’s locations and enjoy 35% of food and 50% of beverages to any Iowa fan who wears something with Iowa on it (offer valid during the game only).
There will be no more raffles this season
If you would like to show your LA Hawkeye pride, then don’t forget to order your LA IOWA Club t-shirt. T-shirts are now in stock and available at the Santa Monica and Pasadena Barney’s Beanery locations! They can be purchased for $15.
All money from T-shirt and raffle ticket purchases go directly to the LA Iowa Club to help pay for costs associated with the Club as well as provide funds to support scholarships and other events. Without your support, we would not be able to realize these goals.
Month of November Food Drive with LA Regional Food Bank
The Los Angeles Iowa Club is partnering with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to help provide food for the hungry this November. For every November Gamewatch (vs Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan, and Nebraska), the LA Iowa Club is asking its members to donate at least 1 non-perishable item to the LA Regional Food Bank. We will have a box available to drop off your donation at the Santa Monica Gamewatch site. Last year we were able to donate 25 pounds of food during just 1 Gamewatch. The LA Iowa Club’s target is to donate 100 or more pounds of food toward this effort!
Examples of non-perishable items to donate:
Canned Chicken, Powdered Milk, Canned Tuna, Saltine Crackers, Soups, Juices, White Rice, Jarred or Canned Spaghetti Sauce, Grape Jelly, Canned Vegetables, Breakfast Cereals, Pork & Beans, Peanut Butter, Macaroni & Cheese, Pasta, Popcorn, Salt, Sugar, Flour, Ketchup, etc.
**Los Angeles Hawkeyes, let’s do our part and help the LA Regional Food Bank achieve their goal, and see that no one goes hungry in Los Angeles County!
