Alvin Chang Send-Off Party

What: President Alvin Chang Send-Off Party
Where: Barney’s Beanery Santa Monica
When: Sunday, June 5, 2016, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
(From Alvin Chang)
Hey Hawkeyes!
Sorry it’s been awhile since our last newsletter. Let’s just say after the crazy December and New Year’s Day that the board and club had that we really needed the time to decompress. Thank you all for participating in the festivities that we procured and set up for you all and sharing it with your visiting friends and family. We had a great growth in our contact lists so continue to share and follow us at our homepage at, Facebook, & Twitter. It is with mixed emotions that I share with you all that as of July 1st, I will be stepping down as the President of the LA Iowa Club. As many of you know, my wife has been on internship in upstate New York this past year. It’s been a tough venture for us being 3000 miles away so I have decided to transfer to NYC this summer with my company and will be moving to Brooklyn. Many of you already know the voice of Isaiah Scales who leads many a raffle at Barney’s on Sundays and is our main man behind our Twitter feed. Isaiah will be stepping into my shoes and taking over the club when I leave. So you’re all in great hands as Isaiah has been an integral part of the leadership team for the past few years and has a great vision to how we will continue to grow here in SoCal.

So there are 3 things I’m asking you all:
1) If you bleed black and gold and want to meet and work with others that bleed the same. I encourage you to reply to us and let us know that you’d like to get more involved with the club. It’s all volunteer and you can do as much as you want – lead a group to a sporting event, coordinate a volunteer effort, get some members together for a beach bash or form a sports team. Whatever you like to do, do more of it and with HAWKEYES! Email to express your interest and we’ll help you get more involved.
2) If you’re available Sun, June 5th. The LA Iowa Club Board of Directors will be hosting a new member networking, t-shirt distribution (LA Iowa Club t-shirts still available for sale), Alvin send off event at Barney’s Beanery in Santa Monica from 4-6pm. Swing by for a bite and say hello.
3) Check out and support the other events that we have going on in the info down below.

It’s been a pleasure serving you all and the club. I’ve made some great friendships over the years and had a lot of good times. Thank you to all you Hawkeyes that have connected with me through this club.

If you’re ever out in NYC, feel free to look me up or stay in touch with me via Facebook or LinkedIn.
